Program & Project Leadership

Every IT program and project is about leading organizational change at some level.  This change is often subtle and nuanced, and there is always more to it than meets the eye.

Like an iceberg, the forces that are driving the change that spawned the program or project are above the surface for all to see.  And because these driving forces are often linear and quantitative in nature (e.g., process improvement, technology improvement, etc.), they are generally not difficult to understand.

However, just like the great mass of an iceberg is below the surface and unseen, so are the forces that are restraining your change.  And because these restraining forces are often non-linear and qualitative in nature (e.g., cultural), they are generally difficult to understand and more often denied or ignored.

The fact is that the difference between that which is technologically possible and that which is culturally do-able is often the essential difference between success and failure.

Finding someone who is skilled at the mechanics of program or project management, and can deal expertly with the mass above the water, may or may not be difficult for you to do.  However, finding someone who is not only skilled in the mechanics of program or project management, but who is also skilled in leading the requisite cultural change, and who can thus deal expertly with the mass both above and below the surface that may be more difficult for you to do.

Not if you call Windward Leadership; our program and project leaders deal with the whole iceberg!

Windward has been in the trenches and shares what works and what doesn't.  As evidenced by their history of successful leadership roles in an impressive variety of companies, spanning the full range of economic conditions, Windward's approach to getting things done is honest and straightforward.
